Beginner Acro Dance:
The Beginner Acro class is a fun & active 30 minute class for 4-6 year olds. There will be no competition/recital attended or costumes required.


Combined Tiny Tot Ballet & Tap Class: 

This is a really exciting class where your dancer can take both ballet and tap in the same 45 minute time slot minimizing your child's exposure while accessing quality physical dance activity! 

Dance and Play: Movement thru music


Boys Hip Hop: Boys ages 6-10 


Recreation Jazz/Hip Hop: Ages 10 and up


Live Song and Dance: a theatrical performance combining singing and dancing. Ages 10 and up

Age Groups & time Length:

Ballet is the foundation of all dance. Through ballet dancers learn poise, grace, self-confidence and a self-discipline that they carry throughout all dance and into life.


The Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) Syllabus is taught at TDC with the option of taking exams. R.A.D. provides students with a sound knowledge of ballet steps, emphasizes a high standard of performance and encourages a love for dance and the art of movement. 


Dancers who already take a regular ballet class and ballet exam class can progress toward pointe work at the appropriate level. 

Arco Dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. 
We are very fortune to have two of our own Teachers, Dana Mutimer and Chelsea Edwards CDTA certified in Acro Dance!

Arco Dance is offered to all dancers aged 5 and up via class group options.

Tap is a fun and exciting form of dance where your feet make the music! This genre provides dancers with a strong sense of musicality and rhythm. 


TDC teaches The Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) Syllabus with the option of taking exams. 


It is recommended that students start tap at a young age to learn the skills. Our studio does not accept new tap students over the age of 12.

Jazz is an athletic style of dance that provides strength and flexibility training for a dancer.

Ballet is necessary foundation for jazz and becomes a pre-requisite at the junior age level of dance at TDC. 

Musical Theatre

Dance and Play is an exciting way for you and your child to enter the dance world and join the TDC family!


The Dance and Play class is for your 3 year old dancer. The class begins in September and wraps up at the end of April. It is a beautiful start to dance as thru Dance and Play the students get a feel for the studio, music and the movement of dance once a week in a 30 minute class.


The Dance and Play class requires in studio participation only as this group of students will not compete in Dance Experience or participate in Recital.

Strength & Conditiong class is the perfect environment for a dancer to be nurtured to grow as a dancer as the class focuses on turnout, flexibility and strength which in turn aids and fosters all dance disciplines.


TDC offers the S&C class for those dancers beginner age and up as the schedule allows.

Dance and Play

Recreation Hip Hop & Jazz is a fun and low key 30 min. class that combines the excited of both Hip Hop and Jazz dance styles. Our recreational class does not require a costume as there is no attendance to competitions or recital. 

Ages 10 and up 

Modern dance is an interpretive style of dance best described as a contemporary and theatrical dance employing a special technique for developing the use of the entire body in movements expressive of abstract ideas.


Ballet is necessary foundation for modern and becomes a pre-requisite at the junior age level of dance at TDC. 

Tisdale Dance Centre offers classes in 8 different genres of dance under the extremely qualified instruction of Dana Mutimer (Instructor & Artistic Director), Chelsea Edwards (Instructor) and Sarah Chalus (Instructor). 


The genres of dance that TDC offers are: Arco, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Pointe, Song and Dance and Strength & Conditioning.


TDC is also a CDTA and RAD qualified studio offering exams in Jazz, Tap and Ballet and Acro.

​Hip-hop is a popular style of dance that refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture.


Hip Hop students learn a funky style of dance of which incorporates a wide range of styles including breaking, locking, popping, levels and tricks.  

Lyrical dance is a style of dance created from the fusion of ballet with jazz and contemporary dance techniques as it is "cousin" to those styles. 


Lyrical dancing is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express strong emotions.
